I just wanted to highly recommend this performance to be included in your 4th of July festivities. I went to this a few years back, actually as part of a class to write a review on it and enjoyed it so much! I wanted to take Raegan last year, but it didn't work out. So I hope to take her this year.

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion dons red, white, and blue July 3 for the return of the popular Star-Spangled Salute. This free Independence Eve spectacular features the Houston Symphony in a selection of patriotic favorites, led by Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski. Also, enjoy a spectacular finale complete with a fireworks display, a first for The Pavilion.

Don't miss commemorating the birth of our nation by joining the Symphony in this grandiose celebration. It's an evening of good, old-fashioned family fun! Pre-concert activities start at 6:30 PM. including a performance by Lord Stirling's Fifes and Drums. The corps honors Lord Stirling, a former British officer who in 1776 commanded troops of the Continental Army from Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Well, I took Raegan to see "Up" at the movie theater yesterday. My mom and step-dad came too. She did ok, Bethany on the other hand didn't make it but 10-15 minutes! LOL So, I had to take her out and didn't see most of the movie. I wanted to get some pictures of Raegan sitting in the theater chair munching on her popcorn, but that didn't happen. Oh well. When I asked her how she liked it, she said it was scary and it was dark. LOL But mom said when the movie ended, she asked, "Where's the mote control?"

So next time I'll just have to have someone watch Bethany until she gets a little older! LOL

Stopping by Old Navy tomorrow!

Tanks for $2

And maybe Carter's at the Outlet Center...Brook said they had clearanced items for $3!
We just got back from The Woodlands Mall to get my free $10 Mall Gift Card and turn around and use it on Brent's father's day present! And while we were there we rode the carousel and played in the playground. Raegan had a blast! Last time she got to do this was before Bethany was born and she was still a little unsure about it and wanted me to play with her. This time she took off and climbed and ran and just had so much fun!

I never could get any real great pictures...she was having too much fun to look at the camera!

I had to share a funny story, too! We were on the elevator with another young mom and her two daughters, both about the same ages as Raegan and Bethany. Her's were named Kenady (born in Dec. 2006) and Jadyn (born Oct. 7th, 2008). So I mentioned Raegan was born Oct. 2 and then Bethany Oct. 24. But before she had told me her girls names the oldest ran out of the elevator, so she called to her, "Kenady." I said, "Her name is Kenady?" I said that we considered "Kennidee"as one of the names for Bethany, but my husband wouldn't go for it, because my first daughter's name is Raegan and he thought that was cheesy." She said, "Well, I wanted to name Jadyn, Raegan, but my husband wouldn't let me because we already had a Kenady." LOL Too weird!

Well, Scratch the last post...no new car! Carmax has a 5-Day Return policy and on Thursday, the 5th day, the check-engine light came on. I took it to AutoZone to have it checked and they said it had 14 error codes!

We took it by the mechanic we use and he looked at it and said there was no way all of those things were wrong if it was driving ok. It could be nothing, or it could be a computer problem, could be the beginning of who knows what problems. So, we made the decision to take it back. :( But it sure was nice while we had it!

Ok, Brent's been itching for me to get a new vehicle, wanting us to be in something a little more dependable. Sooo, I finally broke down today and we got one. Here it is...
P.S. Some time soon, we'll be selling the Malibu :( So if anyone knows anyone looking for a something, maybe for a "1st car" or something...pass the info along!

Bethany sat up by herself today. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics or video, yet. I finally saw her do it, the first 4 or 5 times I just knew she did, because she was on her belly and the next time I looked, she was sitting up! Hopefully I'll catch it on video soon.

AND, I checked her mouth today for teeth and she has her top right tooth poking through! Yay! I'll try to get a pic of that soon too, but that's much easier when she's asleep!

What are some word concoctions you've heard from your kids??? Raegan is giving us quite a few laughs lately....

Mud + Puddles = "Muddles"
Bolt (the movie)= "Belt"
Madagascar (the movie)= "Mad cars"
Noah's Ark = "oah's nark"
Caterpiller = "power power"
Computer= "pooter"
Slinky = "Stinky"
Dinning Room = "Diamond room" (Yes, we have a Diamond Room at our house, but I've never found the diamonds! LOL)

I already told you all about the "Window up" and "Sure likes the bone". LOL

And let me share a story from yesterday...

Raegan always wants to kiss Bethany before she takes her nap. Well, yesterday Bethany fell asleep on the floor while we were reading, so I didn't want to be moving her a whole bunch and squatting down for her kiss and wake her up, so I just told Raegan she could kiss her later after her nap. Well, she didn't like that answer, but she went to sleep anyway. Then after she woke up, she came to the Living Room and sat on the couch for a minute. I came over and sat by her and asked if she had a good nap. She said in kind of a grumpy tone shaking her head a little, "kiss Bethany, hurt my seelings." I said, "Did it hurt your feelings when you didn't get to kiss Bethany before your nap?" "Yes." LOL She's so cute!

First Day in the Pool

Yesterday, I let the girls get in the little pool for the first time this summer, first time at all for Bethany. (I ordered her suit the other day, so haven't gotten it in yet. She wouldn't fit Raegan's old suits.) Bethany didn't seem to really love it or hate it, she just sat there, getting splashed by Raegan! And Raegan could hardly stand to not splash real big, so after I let Bethany sit there a little, I took her out, so Raegan could go wild!
